Rs 90.70 bln worth road projects underway in Punjab

BAHAWALPUR: Provincial Minister for Cooperative Societies Malik Iqbal Channar has said that work on road projects worth Rs 90.70 billion was underway in Punjab which includes 1,943 schemes.

Talking to journalists, he said that Punjab government allocated a sum of Rs 90.70 billion for improvement of road structure in the province. “The provincial government is going to start 1,943 modern road network projects with a cost of Rs 45.34 billion,” he said.

He added that a sum of Rs 45.32 billion was being spent on 708 new schemes to bring improvement in road infrastructure. “A huge sum is also being spent for bringing improvement in road infrastructure,” he said.

The minister said that completion of road projects would bring a revolution in the financial sector of the country.
