ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Vice Chairman Shah Mahmood Qureshi on Monday said that Interior Minister Ahsan Iqbal should resign if he is helpless.
Earlier, the interior minister was prevented by Rangers from entering the accountability court, where Nawaz Sharif appeared for the second time on Monday in connection with three references filed by National Accountability Bureau (NAB) against the Sharif family, following which he threatened to tender his resignation.
The PTI leader went on to say that people should refrain from unnecessary visits to court. He taunted that some of the people only arrive for the purpose of flattery.
Awami Muslim League (AML) chief Sheikh Rasheed also lashed out at Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) and said that the interior minister should resign.
He pointed out that the PML-N wants to leave the government through force. “They should count 120 days from now onwards. Either they will remain here or the supremacy of law. PML-N wants confrontation as it suits them the most,” he said.
