ISLAMABAD: National Assembly Speaker Sardar Ayaz Sadiq urged the nation to rise above parochial differences, narrow-mindedness, sectarianism, and ethnicity and maintain harmony, unity and brotherhood during Muharram.
In his messages on Youm-e-Ashura to the nation, the speaker said that the nation should stand up against the forces that stir up discord and create confrontation in the society, to achieve their nefarious designs. He said that the best way to pay tribute to the martyrs of Karbala is to devote oneself to the development and strength of the country.
“We have to forget our trivial differences and adopt the teachings of Islam and promote peace, security and brotherhood.” He added.
Meanwhile, Acting Speaker Murtaza Javed Abbasi said that the Ashura gives the message of patience and perseverance.
