FAISALABAD: Seven people of a family have been reported killed as a result of a passenger van crashing into a tractor-trolley on Samandari road in Dijkot area of Faisalabad on Friday morning.
As per police reports, the accident caused life-threatening injuries to the seven people.
As per rescue officials, Jehangir, 45, Nigahban Bibi, 65, Morai Bibi 45, Mustafa, 5 and a child succumbed to the wounds on the spot. The deceased and the injured were later shifted to a local hospital where the two critically injured also passed away.
Jehangir, a resident of Nankana Sahib, accompanied by family members was en route to visit the shrine of Sufi saint Sultan Bahu when the accident happened.
Following the accident, the victims’ relatives staged a protest against the local police authorities for failing to arrive at the scene of the accident promptly to arrest the tractor-trolley’s driver, who managed to flee the scene of the accident. The blockage of the road caused the traffic to be disrupted on Samandari road.
