ISLAMABAD: Chief Justice of Pakistan Saqib Nisar on Friday took notice of an application filed by a university student complaining about the extremely high rate of test fees levied on aspirants of government jobs.

The federal government has already issued instructions to all ministries and their divisions to pay 50 percent of the fees applicable to job applicants to lessen the burden on unemployed job seekers. It also instructed the National Testing Service to observe the rules of Public Procurement Regulatory Authority (PPRA) to ensure minimum rates of fee through open bidding. However, the directive is yet to be implemented.

The chief justice has asked for a follow-up report on the implementation of its orders from the Security Division and the Establishment Division within two months.

He also instructed the provincial governments to provide maximum relief to job aspirants and to submit a detailed report within six weeks.
