Rumours surfaced after the former prime minister Nawaz Sharif met Malik Riaz at the former’s Jati Umra residence claiming that the meeting took place to seek his assistance in convincing Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) Co-chairman Asif Ali Zardari to support the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) in the current political crisis.
Riaz is considered one of the closest aides of Asif Ali Zardari.
However, the details of the meeting have not emerged.
