Hyderabad: 10 Muharram to be observed amid strict security

HYDERABAD: Tens of thousands of people will observe Youm-e-Ashur, the martyrdom day of Hazrat Imam Hussain and his companions in Karbala, amid strict security arrangements in Hyderabad and other adjoining areas.

Majalis, which began from the first Muharram, are at their peak; besides majalis, mourning processions are being taken out from different parts of Hyderabad, Latifabad and Qasimabad regions of the district.

On 10 Muharram, the mourning processions will be brought out from different parts of Hyderabad, Latifabad and Qasimabad areas. The main procession will be taken out from Qadamgah Moula Ali in the morning hours, which after marching through its traditional route, will culminate at Karbala Dadan Shah after Zuhr prayers.

Another mourning procession, Zuljinah will be brought out from Qadamgah Moula Ali which will end before the evening prayers.

Traditional procession of “Haidos” will also be brought out from Khata Chowk and Sire Ghat areas, where hundreds of the people will pay homage to the grandson of holy prophet in their own religious tradition.

The police and Rangers have been deployed at different points in order to prevent any untoward incident, along with police and volunteers of the civil society to provide security to the processions.

At different places, surveillance cameras have been installed and linked with the monitoring centre established at the City Police Station.
