LGH put on high alert for Ashura

LAHORE: All doctors, nurses and paramedical staff of the Lahore General Hospital (LGH) have been put on high alert on Ashura and leaves have been cancelled for emergency staff.

This was informed in a special meeting held on Friday under the chairmanship of Principal of Post Graduate Medical Institute (PGMI) Ghias Tayyab to review arrangements made for Ashura.

Special beds have been arranged for affectees of “zanjeer zani” where they will be treated on priority basis with special arrangements.

The PGMI principal directed doctors, nurses and other staff to remain fully aware and leave no stone unturned for discharging their duties. He was told that extra medicines and blood had been arranged to meet any kind of situation.

Moreover, a control room with phone number 042 99264117 has been set up where in three shifts, administrative doctors would be available for any help. In the hospital, extra staff has also been provided which would be available till 11th of Muharram.

LGH MS Dr Ghulam Sabir also asked doctors and other staff to work with national and religious zeal and ensure prompt response on the 9th and 10th of Muharram.
