LAHORE: A Punjab Highway Patrol (PHP) team held a meeting with officials of the Directorate of Monitoring at Arfa Karim Tower on Thursday to discuss mutual cooperation.
It was decided in the meeting that for effective monitoring, information should be shared firsthand. Information of heinous crimes should be passed on to the PHP post as well as the PHP Control Room, so that incidents handling could be monitored effectively.
Participants in the meeting devised a new strategy that cameras on 3G and 4G networks should be installed on patrolling vehicles, which will record crime scenes, movement of vehicles, corruption and behaviour of police officials with commuters.
In the same way, positions of all vehicles may be checked through internet from any office.
It was also decided that during snap checking, internet facility would be provided to the PHP vehicles for online data checking of stolen vehicles, proclaimed offenders and court absconders.
