Nawaz Sharif meets Shehbaz, Malik Riaz

LAHORE: Former prime minister Nawaz Sharif on Thursday held meetings with Punjab Chief Minister Shehbaz Sharif and real-estate tycoon Malik Riaz.

The former prime minister met Punjab Chief Minister Shehbaz Sharif in Jati Umra.

The Sharif brothers discussed various pivotal matters and exchanged views on the party leadership issue. They also pondered upon adopting an effective policy over the under-hearing cases in courts.

Nawaz and Shehbaz also held a meeting a day before in Model Town.

Meanwhile, the meeting between Nawaz Sharif and Bahria Town Chairman Malik Riaz took place at the Sharif family’s Raiwind residence, which was also joined by the Punjab chief minister.

According to a private TV channel, during the meeting, the Sharif brothers discussed various political matters with Malik Riaz and they have reportedly asked Malik Riaz to use his influence and play role for a NRO-like deal.

Earlier, it was reported that former prime minister Nawaz Sharif will leave for London following reports of readmission of Begum Nawaz to the hospital. Begum Nawaz is currently recovering after undergoing repeated surgeries for throat cancer.

The medical condition of Begum Kulsoom Nawaz worsened on Tuesday following which she was admitted to the emergency unit of Princess Grace Hospital in London.

Daughter of former prime minister Nawaz Sharif, Maryam Nawaz in a Twitter message sent out on Wednesday informed that her ailing mother, Kulsoom Nawaz had been readmitted to the hospital. She added that doctors are trying to stabilise her condition. She also requested the nation for prayers for ailing Kulsoom Nawaz.

As per reports, she was accompanied by daughter Maryam and sons Hussain and Hasan to the hospital.

Nawaz returned to the country on Monday after spending over three weeks in London to spend time with his ailing wife.
