Limited recruitment declining Dolphin Force efficiency

LAHORE: Due to the limited number of personnel employed in Dolphin Force, the performance of the western-styled organisation – formed to curb crime in Lahore – has declined.

Currently, 4 seats of ASPs are unfilled. Moreover, 58 entry operator seats, 3 crime analysts, 10 hardware technicians, 22 mechanics, are so far unoccupied. Particularly, because of no recruitment of 8 motorbike mechanics, the expensive bikes of the Dolphin Forces have deteriorated in performance. Moreover, Dolphins SP has notified Operations DIG to requisition posts from Grade IV to Grade XVII.

The modern Dolphin Force is faced with several difficulties due to the shortage of workforce. Although 3,064 applications of posts from Grade IV to Grade XVII were accepted, in reality, only 2,998 recruits were appointed. Further, 466 important posts are currently vacant; only 3 posts of SSP-DSP from a total of 7 have been filled.

A Dolphin Force constable, on the condition of anonymity, told that due to lack of maintenance, millions rupees worth arms and machines have become worthless. Similarly, the Dolphin uniform has become too expensive to buy.

Pakistan Today tried to contact Dolphin Force SP Faisal Shehzad but all in vain.
