ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Naeemul Haque in a tweet accused the Intelligence Bureau (IB) of spying on the Panama Leaks joint investigation (JIT) during its investigation of former prime minister’s son Hussain Nawaz on May 30.

Haque tweeted: “Confirmed: The ambulance sent to JIT during its interrogation of Sharif family was, in fact, an IB vehicle sent to monitor events,” said Haque tweeted on Thursday.

He was speaking about the arrival of an ambulance on May 30 at the JIT headquarters in the Federal Judicial Academy when Hussain Nawaz was there to record his statement.

Answering journalists’ queries at the academy’s gate, a man sitting in the SUV-turned-ambulance with a government number plate identified himself as Dr Omar and said they had been called in and went inside, a TV channel had reported.

The JIT, which included members of Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI), Military Intelligence (MI), Securities and Exchange Commission of Pakistan (SECP), State Bank of Pakistan (SBP), National Accountability Bureau (NAB) and Federal Investigation Agency (FIA), was formed on the orders of the Supreme Court to investigate the offshore assets of the Sharif family.
