KU announces senate election results

KARACHI: Karachi University (KU) Registrar Dr Munawer Rasheed has notified the results of elections to the three seats of the university’s senate from the constituency of college principals.

Elections were held at KU’s arts auditorium from 9:30 am to 1:00 pm on Tuesday. The elected members will hold office for three years from the date of first meeting of the senate.  According to results, elected candidates Professor Nadeem Haider from Government Islamia Science College secured 49 votes, Professor Shahid Iqbal from Government Sirajuddaullah College secured 48 votes while Professor Zakaullah from Government Jamia Millia College got elected securing 44 votes.

Out of 150 voters, 89 voters voted and 9 votes were declared invalid.
