Unique salon for kids opens in DHA

LAHORE: In a bid to modernise haircuts for kids, ‘The Kids Salon’ has been opened in Y Block DHA, Lahore. The salon has been conceptualised to cater to kids of up to 12, and provide them a unique atmosphere where haircuts are meant to be exciting and easy.

“Kids are always an afterthought in salons and we want to change that”, said Ali Yaldram and Kulsoom Fayyaz, owners of the ‘The Kids Salon’. While speaking to Pakistan Today, they said: “TKS wants to solely focus on kids and allow parents to give their children the attention they deserve”.

The salon comes prepared to deal with all kinds of kids. Trained haircutters have been procured from around Lahore that are not only good at their job but also know how to deal with children. On the premises you’ll find swings, LEDs, tablets, candies and drawing games, all meant to capture the imagination of the young customers who may not see getting their hair trimmed as the most fun idea. “We want to ensure that they have a good time while they’re at it”, said Kulsoom, who further developed the initial idea pitched by her husband Ali.

Parents were coming from all over Lahore. A mother from Bahria Town had made an appointment for her daughter. Another came from Gujranwala, who was tired of having to find a solution for her kids at salons geared towards adults.

The owners of the shop were brimming with ideas that they want to implement in the future.

When asked if the concept is sustainable, Ali said: “We want to build a strong relationship with our customers. That’s our utmost priority. Once we have that, Inshallah in 3-4 months ‘The Kids Salon’ will grow more and become really popular.”
