- Pakistan’s UN envoy calls India a fascist state, sees Delhi’s posture as a predator
Pakistan’s permanent UN representative Dr Maleeha Lodhi on Sunday said that India is the mother of terrorism in South Asia during her address to the General Assembly.
She voiced her rebuttal to India’s External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj’s comment that Pakistan is a ‘pre-eminent export factory for terror’ and said that India’s posture was that of a predator. Calling India a fascist state, she emphasised that India should stop supporting and aiding terrorism and related activities across the border.
She said that Indian leaders have Muslim blood on their hands. Noting that forceful occupation of the troubled, conflict-ridden region is illegal, the Pakistani UN representative has called for an enquiry into the war crimes perpetrated by Indian Army in the disputed region of Jammu Kashmir.
She said that Kashmir was not part of India. She urged the global community to make India stop violating the ceasefire arrangement between the two countries. Saying that Swaraj maligned Pakistan in her comments at the UN, she said that Pakistan desires to resolve problems through diplomacy, which were conditional to India doing away with its policy of terrorism.
Urging the UN to define terrorism, particularly state terrorism, she said that the state terrorism which India’s National Security Adviser Ajit Doval has boasted was being sponsored by India’s spy agencies in Balochistan province in what he called a ‘double squeeze’ strategy. She said that convicted Indian spy Kulbhushan Jadhav confessed to subversion in Pakistan, causing terror in the country, and receiving India’s help for the plans.
Deploring the Indian minister’s attempt to denigrate Pakistan’s founding father Quaid-e-Azam Mohammad Ali Jinnah, the Pakistani envoy said, “All I can say about India’s current political luminaries is that they belong to a political organisation that has the blood of thousands of Muslims of Gujarat on its hands.”
India has fought wars with or in all of its neighbouring countries, Maleeha said and also mentioned that the ‘largest democracy’ was also the world’s largest hypocrisy. “It is ruled by a government in which a racist and fascist ideology is firmly embedded. The leadership of this government emanates from the RSS, the same extremist group, which is accused of assassinating Mahatma Gandhi,” she said.
“It is a government which has appointed a fanatic as the chief minister of India’s largest state whose rallying cry to his mobs was: ‘If they kill one Hindu, we will kill 100 Muslim’. It is a government, which has allowed the lynching of Muslims,” she concluded.
During her Saturday’s speech at UN, Sushma unleashed a very sharp and strong attack on Pakistan and asked its leaders to introspect why India is ‘recognised’ as a global ‘IT superpower’ while Islamabad is infamous as ‘export factory for terror.’
