Noted lawyer and senior politician SM Zafar has said that internal stability is necessary to meet external challenges.
He was addressing a round-table conference organised by PINA. He said that provision of basic rights to the people was must to wake in them the spirit of patriotism. Zafar emphasised the media to present positive image of Pakistan so that the uncertainty in people could end. Talking on the occasion, PINA Secretary General Altaf Hassan Qureshi said that politicians should avoid giving statements against the interests of Pakistan. He said that minimised class struggle and politico-economic stability could ensure internal stability in Pakistan.
Conference was attended by Punjab University Vice Chancellor Dr Zafar Moeen Nasir, Lt-Gen (retd) Ghulam Mustafa, political analyst Muhammad Mehdi, senior journalist Altaf Hassan Qureshi, Prof Rasheed Ahmad Khan, Mujeeb-ur-Rehman Shami, Hafeezullah Niazi, Prof Shabbir Ahmad Khan, Dr Amjad Magsi, Qayyum Nizami, Rauf Tahir, Ata-ur-Rehman, Brig (retd) Riaz Ahmad Toor and Najam Wali.
