KARACHI: A fire that erupted in a local restaurant in Boat Basin area in Karachi early Sunday morning has been doused. According to sources, a cooling operation is underway. According to rescue sources, the fire took place on the ground floor of the building and engulfed three floors of the building. An explosion was heard in the building, rescue sources added.
As many as eight brigade vehicles were used to douse the flames. It was earlier being feared that the fire can spread to other buildings in the vicinity. According to initial reports, the fire was caused by short circuiting of a generator.
No loss of life was reported in the incident.
