—Envoy calls on CM Shehbaz
–Dingbin says Shehbaz is ‘real man of action’
–Xiaosong says PML-N, CPC are bringers of development, friendship
LAHORE: Chinese Consul General Long Dingbin called on Punjab Chief Minister Shehbaz Sharif and discussed matters of mutual interest, including the promotion of Pak-China friendship and party level relations between Communist Party of China (CPEC) and Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N).
The counsel general gave a letter to the chief minister from the Communist Party of China in which best wished were conveyed to the chief minister on his birthday, and commending him on his performance for the promotion of Pak-China ties and completion of CPEC projects at the fast track. This letter was signed by Communist Party of China’s Vice Minister Zheng Xiaosong.
The letter stated: “As a veteran political leader in Pakistan you have demonstrated strong leadership in the province. The remarkable achievements in various fields have brought tangible benefits to the local people. As an old friend of the CPC in general and that of the International Department of CPC Central Committee in particular, you have made untiring efforts and a great contribution to the friendly relationships between the two countries and the parties.”
He said: ‘’I can always feel your grand aspirations to Pakistan’s development and your enthusiasm for Pak-China friendship and cooperation. Pakistan and China are all-weather strategic partners. The CPC and the PML-N, as ruling parties of our respective countries, have maintained close interaction. Our party-to-party relations have not only enabled mutual learning of governance experience, but also greatly promoted Pak-China relations. I hope to work with you in our unremitting efforts to carry the friendship between our parties forward and make greater progress in Pak-China relations,’’ he concluded.
The consul general also praised the efforts of the chief minister for swift completion of the CPEC projects and said the Chinese government and people value the efforts of CM Shehbaz for the promotion of mutual ties.
He said the completion of several projects, including Sahiwal coal project, before the deadline is a testimony to CM Shehbaz’s efficient work. He said the chief minister takes a personal interest in the CPEC projects and the credit goes to Shehbaz Sharif; he is the reason that Chinese investors are investing in Punjab.
The Chinese consul said CM Shehbaz Sharif is very popular in China as he is popular in Pakistan, adding that he the real “man of action”.
Shehbaz Sharif said on the occasion that the CPEC has opened up new avenues of development and progress in Pakistan and it has become a game changer. He said the Chinese cooperation for development in Pakistan is praiseworthy, adding that all projects of the CPEC will be completed in time without hindrance. He said the CPEC will change the destiny of Pakistan and the completion of this great mega project will bring about a revolution of development and progress in Pakistan. He thanked the Chinese consul general and the CPC for wishes on his birthday.
