RAWALPINDI: The Pakistan and Indian Director General Military Operations (DGMOs) have contacted on hotline and discussed the issue of cross-border firing at working boundary, ISPR said in a statement.
Pakistan has raised the issue of martyred of six civilians along the working boundary and recorded protest over the Indian forces’ firing and killing of civilians.
ISPR said Pakistan told India that civilians are being targeted intentionally by Indian forces by violating cross border; therefore, the targeting of civilians should be stopped immediately.
It is to be mentioned here that at least six people, including four women, were killed and 20 others injured near the Working Boundary in Sialkot on Thursday as Indian forces “resorted to unprovoked firing of mortars targeting civilians.
The mortar shells were fired on the village of Bini Sulariyan in the Charwah sector.
At least 26 people were also injured in the cross-border firing and shelling in the Harpal, Sajeetgarh and Charwah sectors.
Punjab Rangers, the ISPR added, befittingly responded on posts targeting civilian population.
Indian High Commissioner Gautam Bambawale was summoned to foreign office on Friday over the unprovoked firing from across working boundary.
