Musharraf behind BB’s assassination: Benazir’s daughters

KARACHI: Benazir Bhutto’s daughters lashed out at former president General (r) Pervez Musharraf on Twitter for accusing their father, Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) Co-chairman Asif Ali Zardari of being directly involved in the assassination of Benazir and Murtaza Bhutto.

It started with Aseefa Bhutto retweeting Assad Zulfiqar Khans tweet, “Let me state this quite clearly. Musharraf and his lapdog cronies in the establishment and the army are responsible for BBs murder.”

She went on to say that Musharraf should be ashamed of himself for blaming the victim.

She also criticised media houses for giving undue coverage to Musharraf.

“Disgusted & appalled by media houses that are giving attention to this murderer, who ran away, Aseefa stated in another tweet.

Benazir’s elder daughter, Bakhtawar, later tweeted that “Musharraf ran away crying like a coward” and that “he should quit talk shows and come to Pakistan to face real courts”.

Musharraf on Thursday accused Zardari of being behind former prime minister Benazir Bhutto’s assassination on December 27, 2007, as well as the murder of her brother, Murtaza Bhutto, in September 1996.
