BADIN: Badin District Council Chairman Ali Asghar Halepoto on Friday has condemned the allegation leveled against former president Asif Ali Zardari by General (retd) Parvez Musharraf. He said Musharraf himself is a proclaimed offender and an absconder in the murder case of Benazir Bhutto.
He added that Musharraf is wanted by the courts of Pakistan in different cases including the murder of Shaheed Benazir Bhutto and Akbar Bugatti. He said that the people of Pakistan have foiled his attempts to defame Asif Ali Zardari.
Halepoto claimed that former president Zardari is a benefactor of the country who restored the democracy in Pakistan and added that the people of Pakistan, especially the supporters of Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP), will hold protests against him throughout the country.
Earlier, in an interview, Pervez Musharraf had said that Asif Ali Zardari had been involved in the murder of Benazir Bhutto and her brother Murtaza Bhutto. Benazir murder was beneficial for Zardari so he staged her murder, he alleged.
