Jamaat e Islami Ameer Senator Sirajul Haq has welcomed the Lahore High Court order for brining to light the report of the Model Town tragedy enquiry commission and expressed the hope that the killers of over a dozen innocent people would be exposed and brought to justice.
Talking to the media outside the parliament on Thursday, he said that the nation wanted those behind the gruesome murders in the dock. He was sure that the era of tyranny and oppression was coming to an end and the sun of justice would rise very soon.
Sirajul Haq said that the coterie of the tyrants was finally in the grip of divine justice and those shedding innocent people’s blood would soon be punished. He said that Finance Minister Ishaq Dar should have stepped down after the issuance of his arrest warrants and handed himself over to the forces of the law. But, he said the country’s rulers were determined not to abide by the law and the Constitution. However, he said, that the NAB courts would not spare the plunderers.
Sirajul Haq said that the ousted prime minister and his family would have to account for every penny of their wealth. He said that the NAB should chase the accused people in order to maintain its image and should not give them any concession until they appeared before the courts.
He said the supremacy of the law and the judiciary required that the rich and the poor, the rulers and the ruled were treated at a par and nobody was above the law. He said the nations who had progressed in the world were those who had given equal rights to all their citizens.
