Punjab Law Minister Rana Sanaullah on Thursday said that Punjab government is not refusing to make Model Town Commission report public. He said that he and his government would accept the decision of Lahore High Court’s single bench.
Earlier on Thursday morning, Lahore High Court’s single bench headed by Justice Mazahir Ali Akbar Naqvi directed provincial authorities to release the report formulated by Justice Ali Baqar Najafi on the Model Town tragedy.
Sanaullah asserted that the government always wanted to make this report public. “Whatever judiciary will decide, will be implemented by the government,” he said. While talking to a news channel Sanaullah said that two elements clashed, it wasn’t a pre-planned event.
He alleged that a copy of the report was available with Dr Tahir-ul-Qadri. “He does press conferences to flare up situation,” he claimed. He said that full court hearing on making Model Town report public will be heard on Monday, September 25. “Whatever the full court decides on the issue, we will implement,” he said.
