HYDERABAD: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan said corrupt leaders like Asif Ali Zardari and Nawaz Sharif wouldn’t have been exonerated if the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) was powerful.

The PTI chief said this on Tuesday in Hyderabad during his party’s rally in the city.

“Nowhere in the country was corruption as rampant as it was in Sindh,” he said.

“Zardari must be sent to jail for corruption,” Imran said, as he lashed out at the Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) co-chairman. “After Nawaz, we are coming after Zardari next.”

“The money that should be spent on the education and healthcare of the people of Sindh is sent to Dubai where it is being used to build palaces,” he added.

Accusing Nawaz Sharif and Zardari of being partners in corruption, Imran said that both leaders shook hands on the pretext of ‘charter of democracy.’

“We need the people of Sindh to take a stand against corruption,” he remarked.

He took a jibe at Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, saying Bilawal has done nothing to deserve the position he holds.

“Why doesn’t Bilawal ask his aunt (Faryal Talpur) why each job in Sindh is sold,” Imran said, adding that deep-rooted corruption in the Sindh government has hindered the progress of the residents of the province. “PTI will ensure a complete redressal of the education system so the masses can be educated.”

He was accompanied by party vice chairman Shah Mehmood Qureshi, general secretary Jahangir Tareen and Awami Muslim League chief Sheikh Rashid.

Earlier on Monday, MNA Dr Arif Alvi told the media that Imran will bring a message of change for the people of Sindh, adding that the PTI had held several successful gatherings in Sindh this year. “Only Imran Khan can bring change in Sindh and Tuesday will be a historic day for Hyderabad and Sindh,” he said.

Meanwhile, PTI leader Imran Ismail invited Bilawal Bhutto Zardari to visit the public meeting in Hyderabad and witness the sea of people who will be attending the political show.
