CM reviews provision of clean drinking water

LAHORE: Punjab Chief Minister Shehbaz Sharif presided over a high-level meeting to review the progress of provision of clean drinking water to the public.

The chief minister expressed his utmost displeasure over the non-adoption of a unified strategy for the implementation of this programme and questioned why separate strategies were being adopted for the execution of an important programme.

He said that had there been an effective check and balance, then separate strategies would have not been adopted. This situation is very pitiable, he added. We are required to provide clean drinking water to the people in the province and the work cannot proceed further if the duties are performed this way, he said. He said that action would be taken against those responsible.
