Shehbaz Sharif meets Turkish deputy prime minister

LAHORE: Punjab Chief Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif has met Turkey Deputy Prime Minister Recep Akdağ in Istanbul.

According to details, the deputy prime minister has assured Shehbaz Sharif of needful collaboration in health reform programme and in managing natural disasters. While conversing with CM at this occasion, the Turkish dignitary said that they were ready to make an agreement with Punjab government in this regard, and can only move forward under an effective framework.

Akdağ said that Pakistan was their brother and they were obliged to maintain, as well as hold the hands of their brothers, and provide them with needful assistance because there was no aspect of favouring in helping brothers. He added that Turkey was ready to extend cooperation to Punjab government as people of Pakistan and Turkey were like ‘two bodies sharing same souls’.

The chief minister on this occasion said that the growing cooperation of Pakistan and Turkey was opening new dimensions of relations between the two countries and he was thankful for their cooperation in health, solid waste management, energy and other sectors.

The CM also said that the Punjab government was initiating ‘Motor Bike Ambulances’ in nine cities and Turkey’s cooperation in this regard, as well as for improving public health, was highly regarded. He added that Turkey was doing a lot of cooperation in areas of health and energy.

CM further stated that due to the sincere efforts of the government, energy crises had been tackled, which will move toward betterment as more energy projects will start generating power in upcoming few months and soon people will witness complete elimination of load-shedding.
