While talking to her team in the situation room in Model Town, Maryam Nawaz showed disappointment in presumably the margin of votes with which PML-N secured the by-poll in NA-120, a stronghold of her father and former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif.
In a video recorded in the room, she was heard as saying the following to Saad Rafique: “If these results are correct, there is a serious need for introspection”.
According to unofficial results from more than 191 polling stations, PML-N lead with 57,725 votes, followed by PTI’s 43,108 votes. Whereas in the General Elections of 2013, Nawaz Sharif had secured this seat against Dr Yasmin Rashid with a margin of about 40,000 votes.
