Renowned TV actor Iftikhar Qaiser passes away in Peshawar

PESHAWAR: Renowned television actor Iftikhar Qaiser breathed his last Sunday morning after a prolonged illness in Lady Reading Hospital in Peshawar.

Qaiser was admitted to the hospital on Sept 09 owing to deterioration of his health conditions. According to medical reports, Qaiser had been suffering from diabetes and stomach disorder for a number of years.

Iftikhar’s son, Hasnain claimed that he had severe difficulty getting his father admitted to the hospital  until the media reported the matter. However, the hospital administration later claimed that the delay was due to Iftikhar’s test results.

Qaiser began his acting career with a play on state-run Pakistan Television. With a career span of nearly  forty-five years, Qaiser worked in several Urdu, Hindko and Pashto plays.

The famous monologue ‘ Ab Main Bolon Ke Na Bolon’ (should I speak or not) became Qaiser’s identity.

The renowned actor received the President’s Pride of Performance Award.
