Former president says technocrats not been blessed with intellect

PESHAWAR: Former president and Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) Co-Chairman Asif Ali Zardari on Sunday said that neither did former prime minister Nawaz Sharif know how to govern the country in the past, nor has he learnt now.

Addressing party workers here, he said that his party would stabilise the country and make it stand on its feet again. Criticising technocrats in the country, he said that they had not been blessed with intellect. “This is a country, not a public limited company,” he said.

“Difficulties do encounter countries, but they get back on their feet,” Zardari said, adding that PPP would form its government in the province and bring its own chief minister. However, he said that there’s a lot to be done in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

He said that the province has huge reservoirs of gas, oil and water. “One needs to initiate work on them,” he said.
