LAHORE: An old man and worker of Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) attired in a prince’s costume rode a horse to reach the polling station in NA-120 by-polls on Sunday.
He cast his vote at Lower Mall Government Model High School and was warmly welcomed by voters, supporters and public at large. A large number of PML-N workers chased his horse on motorcycles, cars and on foot. He was seen chanting slogans in favour of PML-N leaders and ousted Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif. Interestingly, the activists of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) and PML-N, who were almost at blows at Cooper Road and Mozang Adda, were also seen following him. His presence on a horse, and earing a king’s costume, also attracted mainstream media.
The NA-120 constituency has thrice elected Nawaz Sharif as the country’s prime minister since 1990 and is considered a stronghold of PML-N since 30 years.
