NEW DELHI: According to Indian media reports, India’s ambassador to Poland Ajay Bisaria will be replacing Gautam Bambawale, as the next high commissioner to Pakistan. Gautam Bambawale has been appointed ambassador to China by India.
Bisaria who has been serving as the Ambassador to Poland is likely to reach Pakistan in October.
Indian media reports have also stated that the diplomatic reshuffle was necessary as India’s ambassador to China Vijay Gokhale has been appointed Secretary (Economic Relations) in the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA).
Gokhale has played an active role in defusing the Doklam crisis with Beijing and is now being hinted as India’s next foreign secretary if the government des not extend S Jaishankar’s term in January.
