A woman in Karachi’s Sikanderabad was arrested for allegedly murdering her husband’s second wife, police said on Friday.
The victim Fatima, 17, was asleep in her home when Shahnaz, 27, allegedly attacked her with a knife and killed her, Station House Officer Shaoor Khan said.
Later, Shahnaz informed her husband Muhammad Juman over the phone that she was leaving the house, the SHO said.
According to reports, police arrested the suspect near a petrol pump in the area while she was trying to flee, he said. This was done thanks to information provided by the husband.
So far, Shahnaz has not made a statement on the motive of the murder, the SHO added.
The SHO revealed that the husband had entered into a love marriage with the victim two months ago.
