Pakistan-Turkey for enhanced trade ties

LAHORE: Turkish Prime Minister Binali Yildrim held a luncheon in the honour of Punjab Chief Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif which was also attended by Turkish Deputy PM Recep Akdag and senior officials of Turkey.

Speaking on the occasion, the Turkish premier said that Pakistan and Turkey are working to strengthen ties through trade, adding that enemies of Pakistan are Turkey’s enemies and vice versa.

He said that Pakistan has rendered enormous sacrifices in the war against terrorism and no country has a right to criticise Pakistan in this regard. The premier assured that Turkey will cooperate with Pakistan in transport, health, and other sectors.

The Turkish prime minister has agreed to constitute a working group comprising officials from both the countries to promote trade ties.

Speaking on the occasion, the Punjab chief minister said the people of Pakistan and Turkey share a similar approach to international affairs, adding that Turkey has a top-most position in Pakistan’s foreign policy.

He applauded Turkey for supporting Pakistan in every crisis and added that the nation is grateful.

He said that the ties between both the countries are strengthening with every passing day.

Pakistan’s sacrifices in the war against terrorism are exemplary and the country has united against terrorism, and with the cooperation of friends like Turkey this war will be over soon, he concluded.
