Awami Muslim League (AML) chief Sheikh Rashid on Friday, while commenting on Supreme Court’s dismissal of Nawaz Sharif and children’s petitions, claimed that the Sharif family’s lawyer failed to find any legal irregularities or loopholes in the Supreme Court’s Panamagate verdict.
His statement came as the SC dismissed all review petitions filed by ousted Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif, his children and Finance Minister Ishaq Dar against the Panama Papers judgment.
Rashid said that failing to find any loopholes in the judgement, the lawyers could only argue over the past facts. But the July 28 verdict was comprehensive, authentic and based on justice which was why their review petition were bound to be dismissed.
The court maintained the decision of disqualifying former prime minister Nawaz Sharif for violating Article 62(1)(f) of the constitution.
Rashid pronounced, “I am hopeful that Nawaz Sharif will appear before the court on September 19 over the reference filed against him in the Hudaibiya Paper Mills case.
