ISLAMABAD: The National Assembly was informed on Friday that the government has taken a number of steps to achieve the objectives for Climate Change during the last five years.
Responding to a question during the Question Hour, Parliamentary Secretary for Cabinet Secretariat, Raja Muhammad Javed Ikhlas informed the House that the government has ratified the Paris Agreement on Climate Change in November last year.
He said under the Prime Minister’s Green Pakistan Programme 3.65 billion rupees have been allocated for the revival of forestry resources and conservation of biodiversity.
He said more than one billion rupees have also been allocated for wildlife conservations.
He said the National Forest Policy has also been approved by the Council of Common Interests.
