KARACHI: Sindh Education & Literacy Minister Jam Mehtab Hussain Dahar has said that a strict action will be taken against those educational institutions involved in illegal and unjust hike as no one is above the law.
He stated this while talking to reporters after a meeting at his office on Thursday.
Private Institutions Director General Mansoob Ahmed Siddiqui, Registrar Rafia Mallah and Assistant Director Akhlaq Ahmed also attended the meeting.
While showing dislike over an illegal increase in fees, the minister said that a certain number of educational institutions were violating the court orders and causing trouble for the parents and the students as well.
Jam Mehtab directed the Private Institutions DG to issue show cause notices to the institutions that were violating the rules and regulations and make the monitoring teams more effective to take immediate action against the violators.
He warned the violators that not only they will face fine but they will have to go behind the bars in case of non-compliance.
The minister said that a summary was being moved to the law department to make the laws more effective to ensure the rule of law. He further directed the officers concerned to monitor the situation regularly and report him regularly.
Meanwhile, on the directives of the minister, the Secretary Education for Colleges, Pervaiz Ahmed Seehar, held a meeting in his office with the officers of Directorate Private Institutions and it was decided in the meeting that a meeting of all regional directors would be held on September 15 in Hyderabad to tackle the situation.
The secretary said that he had visited many districts of the province in previous days to monitor the situation regarding ongoing admission process in colleges and redressed the grievances of the parents and the students about receiving of illegal fees.
