ISLAMABAD: Federal Minister for Human Rights Mumtaz Ahmed Tarar and Secretary Rabiya Javeria Agha Wednesday condemned the incident of honour killing in Karachi, in which a teenage couple was allegedly murdered through electric shocks.

The brutal and barbaric act perpetrated against the teenage couple is not only against ‘human rights’, but also questions the collective human conscience across our nation and society and strong action needed to be taken against the perpetrators of this terrible injustice said a statement issued by the ministry.

The Ministry of Human Rights operates a helpline at 1099 for such cases of violence and torture, providing legal and psychological counselling as well as referral systems.
