Children force to get education under open sky

MANSEHRA: Dozens of children of a government primary school were forced to get education under open sky due to the absence of a building, despite the passage of 53 years since its establishment.

According to details, Government Primary School (GPS), Shungli, Mansehra, was established in 1964. Since then, the building for the said school has not been constructed, forcing children to get education under open sky for decades.

Residents of the area were of the view that despite repeated complaints and assurance of the elected representatives, promises of allocating funds for construction of the school building have not been materialised.

They said that the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI)-led provincial government is making tall claims of reforms in the education sector but the provincial education department has failed to resolve the issue.

They demanded the Chief Minister Pervez Khattak and other authorities concerned for taking notice and to direct immediate steps for constructing building for GPS, Shungli.
