Pakistani squad for first match against World XI finalised

LAHORE: A 12-player squad for the first match of the three-match T20 series scheduled to be held at Gaddafi Stadium, Lahore has been finalised.

As per reports, fast bowler Mohammad Amir will not be playing the first match of the tournament, despite being a part of the Pakistan squad that will face World XI in Lahore. Amir is currently in the  UK due to the birth of his daughter, that was announced earlier today.

The squad includes Sarfraz Ahmad (captain, wicketkeeper), Fakhar Zaman, Ahmed Shehzad, Babar Azam, Shoaib Malik, Imad Wasim, Shadab Khan, Faheem Ashraf, Hasan Ali, Rumman Raees, Usman Khan Shinwari and Sohail Khan.

Moreover, pitch conditions will determine whether Usman Khan Shinwari or Sohail Khan will play the match against World XI today.

All-rounder Aamer Yamin, batsman Umar Amin and spinner Mohammad Nawaz will not be participating in the first match against World XI.
