Load shedding and power crisis

Load shedding is not going to end in years to come because of unsynchronised development of generation, transmission and distribution power sectors creating bottlenecks of power supply to end consumers.

The cost of electrical power will not be cheaper and affordable as power projects were not built on time since last several years. We have to pay dearly now for this inaction as the cost of projects under development and those planned are many times more now than before. Accordingly, the cost of production and delivery of electrical power will be much higher resulting in higher & higher tariffs or the price of electricity.

Let us forget that the power would be cheap or affordable for the industrial, commercial or domestic utilisation in the years ahead. Our exports cannot be competitive in the world markets in the absence of cheaper electricity.

Therefore real economic growth is not in sight.
