Islamabad Police arrange ‘Leadership Development Course’ for cops

Islamabad Police have started ‘Leadership Development Course’ for its cops with the purpose to inculcate better sense among them about emerging development and communication strategies in policing affairs.

A comprehensive syllabus has been prepared for this course being started on directions of Inspector General of Police Khalid Khattak. A total of 354 policemen from operation divisions would participate in this course.

During the first day of the course, SP (Investigation) Muhammad Zeeshan would brief about the qualities of leader while SP (Rural) Syed Mustafa Tanveer and SP (City) Muhammad Zubair Shaikh would deliver lecture on decision powers of leader and strategy to maintain peace in an untoward situation respectively.

Likewise, SP (Special Branch) Irsala Saleem would elaborate laws in specific matters while SP (Industrial Area) Liaqat Hyat Niazi would describe about moral values and Additional SP Hasam bin Iqbal to highlight the aspects of self-realization on the second day of the course.

During the last day, SSP (Security) Jameel Hashmi would deliver lecture about community policing, SSP (Traffic) about stress management and DSP (Legal) Hassan Raza about effective communication.

The course will end on October 4, 2017. IGP Muhammad Khalid Khattak said that purpose of these courses was to ensure effective policing by creating awareness about modules of management, development and communication.

He said that forces of other countries participated in such courses to acquaint themselves about emerging changes. The IGP also hoped improvement in policing affairs through such courses and urged all participants to take keen interest in learning the new skills.
