PESHAWAR: Security forces have killed two alleged militants and detained seven alleged facilitators from the premises of an abandoned flour mills at Dalazak Road in the outskirts of Peshawar.
Army, Counter-Terrorism Department, police and intelligence agencies, in a joint operation, raided an alleged office of Islamic State (IS) aka Daesh. The operation was conducted a few days earlier whereas the details were released on Monday by the CTD in a press release.
When security forces raided the location, they were met with resistance; as a result, two militant were killed, including an IS commander.
The security forces also claimed of recovering huge quantity of arms, ammunition, literature, and computers during the operation.
In the later investigation, it was revealed that the mill was being used as a commanding headquarters by the militants who had pledged their allegiance to the IS, the CTD press release said. The mill was in the possession of these militant since 2009.
The identity of killed alleged terrorists and their facilitators have not been made public yet. However, it was also reported that a watchman along with his wife was also arrested from the site. Owner of the mill was also detained but he was later released on a bail.
According to security forces, the militant network was taking directives from Afghanistan. So far during the investigation process, the CTD confirmed the involvement of alleged terrorists in 14 violent acts in Peshawar, while further investigations are in progress.
