Disgruntled Sindh information minister has disapproved of Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) chief Najam Sethi’s attitude, saying that despite written requests to the PCB no matches were scheduled in Karachi.
As Lahore braces itself for the World XI tour amid tight security, politicians across the country have questioned this discriminatory attitude of the PCB towards other provinces.
If international wrestlers can come to Karachi then why not cricketers, he questioned.
The World XI will play three T20Is in its tour to Pakistan.
Since the 2009 attack, Pakistan has been forced to play most of their “home” games in the United Arab Emirates — with the Pakistan Cricket Board complaining they have incurred losses of around $120 million. But security has dramatically improved across Pakistan in the last two years, signalling hopes for the slow revival of international sport in the country.
