Pakistanis observe 69th death anniversary of Quaid-e-Azam

KARACHI: The nation is observing the 69th death anniversary of the father of the nation, Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah on Monday with due solemnity.

While national flag was flying half-mast in most of the government buildings, a special session of Quran Khawani (recital of holy Quran) was arranged in the premises of Quaid’s mausoleum in the metropolis.

It was since morning that notables along with other citizens kept visiting the Quaid’s mausoleum to offer fateha and pay tribute to the founder of the country.

Federal Minister for Interior Ahsan Iqbal, currently in Karachi, also reached the mausoleum to offer fateha and pay tribute to the father of the nation. Mayor of Karachi Wasim Akhter along with Deputy Mayor Arshad Vohra was the first to reach the mazar and on behalf of all residents of Karachi, laid wreaths beside offering fateha for the great leader Jinnah and his close confidants buried on the same premises.

Sindh governor, chief minister and other cabinet members of the provincial cabinet reached together to pay tribute to Quaid e Azam reflecting the importance of unity.

Director General of Pakistan Rangers-Sindh Muhammad Saeed, as well as the representatives of the three armed forces also visited the mazar to mark Quaid’s 69th death anniversary.
