Landlord tortures labourer over suspicion of mobile theft

KABIRWALA: An influential landlord in Khanewal on Sunday brutally tortured a young labourer over suspicions that he stole his mobile phone.

After airing of the news, police arrested the landlord who tortured the labourer. Multan regional police officer said that strict action will be taken against the landlord, identified as Mazhar Hussain.

The landlord hanged him with chains in a well. When the man’s condition deteriorated, Hussain and his men took him out and tied him to a pole.

After torturing the young man, the suspects threw him in an open field. The residents, upon finding the injured labourer, took him to a hospital.

The victim submitted a plea against the suspects in a police station; however, he also alleged that police were hesitating from taking action against the influential suspects.
