  • Asks party workers to intensify campaign in NA-120

Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leader Maryam Nawaz Friday said opponents could not beat Nawaz Sharif and his party in politics and election.

Talking to a private news channel, she said the opponents could not compete with PML-N and due to that reason they were hatching conspiracies against it and its leadership.

The opponents were hiding behind the courts and Election Commission of Pakistan, she said.

“We are not afraid of any one or criticism. Everyone knows about the elements who were hatching conspiracies against the PML-N,” she said.

She said Nawaz Sharif had been disqualified for having “Iqama”; he had no corruption charges and his hands were clean. “Despite reservations, we accepted the decision,” she added.

She said that this is the first such case in which the punishment was given before the case was registered.

However, the Pakistani nation has rejected Nawaz’s disqualification, she said.

“Mian Nawaz Sharif will return to the country soon,” said Maryam.

“We have a bright future. Try to stop us if you can,” she said.

Earlier, she chaired an important meeting at the PML-N office in Model Town and directed the party workers to accelerate the pace of election campaign in NA-120 constituency.

The meeting discussed in detail the preparations for the upcoming NA-120 by-poll, where Begum Kulsoom Nawaz is contesting the election as the PML-N candidate.

It was decided in the meeting that a maximum number of voters would be contacted to muster their support for the party candidate.

According to the party sources, Maryam Nawaz said on the occasion that the Pakistan Muslim League-N would win the by-election with a clear majority.

She asked the party leaders and workers not to leave any stone unturned in having close liaison with the voters.

She thanked the party workers for their active participation in the NA-120 election campaign.

Special prayers were offered for the fast recovery of Begum Kulsoom Nawaz.

The meeting was attended by the senior party leaders, including Asif Kirmani, Commerce Minister Pervaiz Malik, Ahmad Ahsaan and local body representatives from the area.
