NA body displeased over addition of poisonous substance in Rawal Dam

— NA Standing Committee on Climate Change condemned the Myanmar Muslims massacre, recommended snatching Nobel Prize from Aung San Suu Kyi

 

 

 

 

The National Assembly (NA) Standing Committee on Climate Change, while condemning the killings, rape and massacres of Myanmar’s Muslims at the hands of the government, has expressed its concerns over accumulation of poisonous material in water of Rawal Dam.

The committee demanded the international community to interfere in the brutal issue. Meeting of the NA Standing Committee on Climate Change was held in Parliament House on Friday. Committee Chairman Dr Hafeezur Rehman Khan presided over the meeting.

The Committee discussed the steps taken by the Punjab government’s Forest Department to stop deforestation and what measures have been taken to address the vulnerability of Climate Change in the Province. The committee expressed dissatisfaction over the said briefing and suggested that a detailed briefing along with facts and figures on ‘Green Pakistan Programme’ should be given to the committee.

The NA Body also showed displeasure and deferred the agenda regarding the report of the addition of the poisonous substance to water in the Rawal Dam and recommended that the officials from CDA, CADD, Interior Ministry, Commissioner of MCI and ICT must be called to attend the next meeting. Later on, the briefing was also given to the committee on the recent monsoon in the country.

The committee strongly condemned the killings, rape and massacres of Burmese Muslims in the hands of the Myanmar Government and urged the United Nations and International Community to condemn the massacre of the Burmese Muslims and play their role in preventing the atrocities of the Muslims of Burma. The committee also recommended withdrawing the Nobel Prize for Peace from the Aung San Suu Kyi, who has been keeping quit on the Myanmar Muslims massacres.

The meeting was attended by MNAs, Malik Ihtebar Khan, Salman Hanif, Muhammad Moeen Wattoo, Shaista Pervaiz, Shahnaz Saleem, Mussarat Ahmed Zeb, Naeema Kishwer Khan, Khalida Mansoor, Shah Jahan Baloch, Nighat Parveen Mir, Imran Zafar Leghari, and Mushahidullah Khan, Minister for Climate Change (Ex-officio Member).
