RAWALPINDI: Corps Commanders’ Conference held at General Headquarters, Rawalpindi, discussed internal and external security situation of the country and progress of operation Raddul Fasaad.

The conference was chaired by Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Qamar Javed Bajwa, Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) stated on Friday.

The conference discussed in detail the Raddul Fassad operation and vowed that it would continue until the elimination of all terrorists from the country.

Reportedly, the security environment in the region, including the announcement of Afghan and South Asia policy by US President Donald Trump, was also discussed.

This was the first meeting of the army’s top commanders after Donald Trump announced his new South Asia policy on August 22. Since then, Pakistan has taken a strong stance against the ‘anti-Pakistan policy’, with the military leadership holding several meetings with the civilian government.

In the last corps commanders’ meeting on August 7, the COAS expressed full satisfaction at army’s commitment to national defence and security, and directed that efforts must continue to defeat terrorism and militancy in order to establish rule of law and uphold the supremacy of the Constitution.

“We look forward to a trust based mutual cooperation in this regard which can achieve the policy ends of enduring regional peace,” the COAS had said.
