Islamabad Police to hold a sports event

ISLAMABAD: Islamabad Inspector General of Police (IGP) Khalid Khattak, while issuing directions to hold a sports event at the inter-division level of Islamabad Police, said that sports are crucial for a healthy society, as they not only promote an environment of competition but also inculcate the spirit of countering a tough situation.

A sports committee has been constituted under the supervision of SP Zubair Ahmed Shaikh. Sub-Inspector Ayub Awan will serve as the sports office while ASI Muhammad Tahir will be the assistant sports officer in this committee.

All sports activities will be monitored by SSP Muhammad bin Ashraf who will also ensure logistical support of all events.

The committee will select the players for hockey, cricket, football, volleyball and kabbadi from all divisions of Islamabad Police. The sports event will start this week and may also have the participation of women.

The IGP said that policemen feel exhausted from long duties and such event will help to entertain them and provide them the opportunity to demonstrate their skills.

He said that this event will be highly successful and provide opportunity to policemen to keep themselves physically and mentally fit.
