LAHORE: Punjab Chief Minister Shehbaz Sharif has directed the authorities concerned to accelerate the dengue surveillance activities in the wake of recent rains and said that all the concerned institutions should proactively work to deal with the dengue.
In his directives issued from London on Thursday, Shehbaz Sharif asked all the concerned institutions to work proactively to deal with the dengue. He said the stagnant water should be immediately drained out and no leniency would be tolerated in this regard.
He said that all the line departments should work in an efficient manner and every necessary step should be adopted to save the people from dengue. An organised campaign should be initiated so as to sensitise the people about precautionary measures for combating the menace of dengue and anti-dengue steps be monitored through the latest technology.
The chief minister said the devised plan to combat the dengue disease be implemented in letter and spirit as there is no space for any leniency. Similarly, indoor and outdoor surveillance be given special attention and all line departments should work with passion and hard work.
Shehbaz Sharif said that the performance of the medical team of Punjab for dealing with the dengue disease in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa is praiseworthy and added that he commends the provincial minister and secretaries of health along with their team. He further said that the medical team of the Punjab government has given substantial support to their brethren of KP to deal with the dengue.
